NEW YORK – The United Nations said the situation in some Yemeni cities has reached untold levels.
Yemenis every day suffer from a lack of health care and other basic services. Since March 2015, Yemen has been under a brutal attack by the Saudi-led coalition. The consequences of this dastardly aggression against the Yemeni people are devastating: hundreds of thousands ofi dead, thousands of civilian buildings destroyed and uninhabitable, including schools, hospitals and industries. Many of the deaths are caused by easily treatable and certainly preventable diseases, such as diarrhea or pneumonia. Because of the border blockade imposed by Saudi Arabia, thousands of children and others are also dying from lack of medication. A detailed report by the United Nations reported that Saudi attacks have killed more than three thousand children and injured ten thousand others, with an average of six children injured or killed each day. Many hospitals are closing due to the inability to obtain medicines, various supplies and fuel for generators. Continued attacks by the Saudi-led coalition are collapsing Yemen’s health care system. Despite the ceasefire, Saudi attacks continue indiscriminately. In addition, there are reports of numerous human rights violations by the Saudis and affiliated gangs, as reported by Amnesty International. Source: ilfarosulmondo
