What’s Israel’s insolent proposal to Tunisia?

While Morocco is beginning to doubt the normalization of its ties with Israel, a normalization announced scandalously from Washington and which has only reorganized anti-Zionism in the Sahara, Algeria, and even the Sahel, the blockade seems total in the Maghreb, hence the thinly veiled threat of Israel against Tunisia.

“Israel asks Tunisia to choose between normalization and the payment of millions of dollars in damages.
The statement of the deputy and writer, Safi Said has made the effect of a bomb. The latter launched, during a program broadcast last night on Attessia TV, that Israel wanted Tunisia to accept the normalization of diplomatic relations to seek damages for the property of Jews who fled Tunisia.

Commenting on this statement, former Minister of State Domains, Hatem El Euchi said that when he was Minister, the European Union Ambassador, Laura Baeza Giralt, conveyed to him Israel’s intention to request that Tunisian citizens of the Jewish religion, who fled Tunisia in 1967 and 1973, be compensated. He stressed in the same sense that these are huge amounts.

El Euchi added that he replied that the Jews in question are of Tunisian nationality and that Israel had nothing to do with this case. He also said that he did not consider it useful to inform the head of government at the time, Habib Essid, because he had not attached great importance to this request.

On December 22, 2020, Tunisia stated that it did not want to normalize its ties with Israel.
Unlike other Arab countries, Tunisia does not intend to normalize its relations with Israel, the Tunisian Foreign Ministry said at the time.

After the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Sudan, Morocco joined on December 10 the list of Arab countries that have decided to normalize their ties with Israel under the aegis of the United States.
The Tunisian statement responds to speculation that the North African country would follow suit, under pressure from Donald Trump’s administration.
