Is the French president, Emmanuel Macron, aware that he is sacrificing the interests of France by counting on a humiliated and pitiful America? France has announced that Iran would have to comply with the nuclear agreement if it wanted to see the United States return to the 2015 nuclear agreement.
Two days after U.S. President Joe Biden’s telephone conversation with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron on a range of issues including Iran, the Elysée Palace made Washington’s return conditional on the nuclear accord.
AFP reported on its Twitter account that Iran would have to return to its own commitments if it wanted to see the United States return to the 2015 nuclear deal.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif reacted to France’s allegations in a tweet:
“Why should Iran – a country that has stood firm and defeated 4 years of brutal American economic terrorism imposed in violation of the JCPOA and UNSC resolution – first show goodwill? It was the United States that broke the agreement – for no reason. They must right their wrongs; then Iran will respond. »
On Thursday, January 21, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, whose country has failed to fulfill its part of the contract, called on Iran to return “immediately” to its commitments.
It should be noted that Joe Biden has been in talks with European officials, including French and German officials, over the past few days about the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In the aftermath, the president of the Office of Protection of Iranian Interests in Cairo reaffirmed that the United States was no longer “the head of the global village”, calling on the country to sweep its own house instead.
Nasser Kanaani, president of the Office of Iranian Interests Protection in Cairo, wrote in an article published on Tuesday, January 26: “Trump did not leave power without leaving a sinister legacy not only for the new administration, but also for the American nation: a humiliated and pitiful America”.
Kanaani continues: “The standoff between Democrats and Republicans over the election results and the occupation of Congress by Trump’s supporters – or Trump’s coup against democracy – betrayed the true nature of American-style democracy and the collapse of society in the United States.
“According to leading political experts, the superpower is moving away from the West and gradually towards the East, especially as the world order tends towards change and the distribution of power among different geopolitical blocs,” Kanaani wrote.
Fareed Zakaria, an American author and journalist, and the Brookings Institute believe that the irreversible decline of the United States has already begun and that the world is entering a post-American era,” he added.
“The U.S. National Intelligence Council predicts that the U.S. will remain a power by 2025, but it will lose its dominance.
Nasser Kanaani went on to describe what Europe expects from the Americans as “unattainable”: “Europe expects the United States to regain its role in international issues when it is no longer a global superpower that can play a decisive role in the issues Europeans are considering”.
The Iranian diplomat then called on the regional partners of the United States to gradually leave the field of American political, security and economic domination.
