A Columbus, Ohio, officer killed an unarmed African American man (20-year-old Donovan Lewis) with his firearm while the latter was in his bed.
Investigators are now reviewing videos recorded by the bodycams of police officers, who responded around 2 a.m. Tuesday to an apartment building where uniformed officers were executing an arrest warrant for domestic violence, assault and improper handling of a firearm. Police did not specify who the warrant was for. “We are committed to full transparency and we are committed to holding officers accountable for wrongdoing,” the police chief said. “It is my job to hold officers accountable, but it is also my job to offer them support throughout the process.
