According to Turkish Aydınlık Daily, United Arab of Emirates (UAE) is planning to quash its domestic dissents by supporting al-Qaeda-linked mobs and exhorting them to carry-out hate attacks against religious and ethnic minorities such as Shias.
Since UAE and Israel signed a peace deal under the aegis of US president Donald Trump, fanatical groups which adopt Wahhabi doctrine, committed violent attacks against minority groups across UAE, while UAE government condones their activities in an attempt to stifle pro-democracy movement in the Arab nation.
The UAE’s National Intelligence Service (NIS) has been funding hardline religious groups in order to spread Wahhabi vicious teachings and weaken people’s solidarity with their fellow Shia citizens.
Following the arrest of a number of political activists during the Arab spring and later, in summer of 2012, International Amnesty’s attention began to grow. It was alleged that UAE authorities were violently torturing dozens of political prisoners.
The UAE is accused of arresting pro-democracy activists, human-rights lawyers, persecuting Shia minority, fostering a climate of “fear and loathing,” and descending into a state of “oppression,”19 Emirati social activists were quoted as saying according to AFP.
