ANKARA – There are countries in the West that want the war in Ukraine to continue.
This was stated by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu in an interview with Haber Global. Among them “are NATO member countries. I don’t mean just the U.S., I’m talking about member countries,” Cavusoglu said, saying that among European states some wanted to sabotage the agreement between Ankara, Kiev, Moscow and the UN that unblocked grain exports from Ukraine.
“There were also those who wanted to sabotage the grain deal. Not the United States I must say,” Cavusoglu said, adding that Washington has, on the contrary, contributed to the functioning of the agreement “by removing restrictions on Russian fertilizer exports, on reaching ports and on banking transitions. There were also European countries that wanted to sabotage” the grain agreement but “we have not lost hope and we continue our efforts,” the Turkish foreign minister said.
