HELSINKI – For Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin, the conflict in Ukraine has shown that Europe is not strong enough.
“We would be in trouble without the United States.” The leader of the NATO candidate country said this during a visit to Australia. Referring to the Russian special military operation, Marin highlighted Europe’s weaknesses and strategic mistakes in dealing with Moscow. “I have to be very honest with you, Europe is not strong enough at the moment, we would be in trouble without the U.S.,” he told the Lowy Institute, a Sydney-based think tank.

that in his view “it is still possible” a negotiating table with Vladimir Putin to end the war in Ukraine, which he called “a big mistake.” However, the French president stressed that “a just peace is not a peace that can be imposed on the Ukrainians” and that “a just peace is not a peace that in the medium or long term would not be accepted by either side.”
