BEIJING–Solving the crisis in Ukraine “by political means” was reiterated by Chinese President, Xi Jinping in his nearly 3-hour meeting with EU Council President, Michel.
“Diplomacy is in the best interest of Europe and the countries of Eurasia,” he added. “It is necessary to avoid escalation, to insist on pursuing peace and promoting talks, on controlling the spillover impact of the crisis.”
Michel for his part said the EU is counting on China’s contribution “to put an end to Russia’s brutal occupation and destruction of Ukraine.”
