The Venezuelan president has condemned the terrorist attack on the pipeline of the state oil and gas company “Petroleus di Venezuela” (PDVSA), which caused a major fire.
According to the Russian news agency “Sputnik,” Nicolas Maduro said in a statement posted on YouTube on Saturday, “Today we suffered a terrorist attack on the Eastern Gas Pipeline, which caused a major fire, but now the workers of the state oil and gas company Petroleus di Venezuela (PDVSA) have regained control over it.”
He added that no one was killed or injured in the attack.
Maduro has always accused the U.S. of organizing sabotage operations against communications, energy and oil and gas facilities in Venezuela.
Venezuela’s Maduro won the 2018 presidential election, but the United States did not recognize him as a legitimate president and imposed sanctions on the Latin American country that severely affected the country’s oil industry.
