civil disobedience, after last Monday’s demonstration was once again suppressed in blood by security forces, causing a toll of seven dead and about 100 wounded. To denounce the continuing violence, yesterday the large market of the capital remained closed, in memory of a trader killed in the demonstration the day before, while the strike of the Sudanese doctors’ committee continues. Strike also on the student front, where yesterday the University of Khartoum announced the interruption of all courses for 48 hours. The form of civil disobedience decided by different activist factions brings back to the 2019 protests, which culminated in the deposition of Omar al Bashir, then in power for 30 years.
