MADRID – The number of African migrants who died trying to enter the Spanish enclave of Melilla in Morocco has risen to 23.
Rabat officials told France Presse. Nearly two thousand migrants approached the Melilla border on Friday, and a group of about 500 managed to get past the checkpoint and spill into Spanish territory. The Spanish daily Razon said, citing well-informed sources, that 45 migrants and four security officials died in the clashes.
