BEIRUT-Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah stressed Saturday that the Resistance is directly linked to Ashura and Imam Husayn.
During a video address during the first eve of Muharram, Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that all the sacrifices along with patience, steadfastness, Jihad, hard work, victories and achievements over four decades are inspired by Ashura. “Everything we have is by virtue of Ashura,” said Sayyed Nasrallah addressing the mourners in the southern suburb of Beirut (Dahiyeh).
Ashura marks the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, the third Shiite Imam and grandson of Prophet Muhammad(SAW), in the Battle of Karbala.
“The commemoration of Ashura has provided our movement with enthusiasm, power, patience, ability to offer, sacrifice and hope for forty years,” said Sayyed Nasrallah taken from the Farosulmondo website. The Resistance leader congratulated Muslims on the Lunar New Year, wishing them a year full of blessings.
Sayyed Nasrallah said that during the nights of Muharram he will address religious and cultural issues related to Ashura, Imam Husayn and the Prophet Muhammad’s family, adding that political affairs will be addressed during the tenth night and the day of Muharram. However, he added that if necessary he could issue remarks on some political developments in the coming days.
