NATO, what Turkey wants to say yes to Sweden and Finland

‘Turkey has always supported NATO’s ‘open door’ policy even before this war.’

These are the words uttered yesterday by Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu in New York after a conversation with U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. An outstretched hand that, however, carries with it conditions. ‘We understand the security concerns of Finland and Sweden,’ the Turkish diplomat explained, ‘but Turkey’s security concerns must also be respected.’
