Hezbollah’s Lebanese resistance on May 25, 2000 forced the Israeli army to withdraw from southern Lebanon after a 22-year occupation. This day in Lebanon is called the Eid (holiday) of Resistance and Liberation.
According to IRIB, Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, in a speech on the anniversary of Lebanon’s liberation from the Zionist regime and the Day of Resistance, thanked all those who sacrificed their lives in this way according to sincerity and added that with the failure of the Greater Israel plan, the Palestinian people have found hope for the liberation of their land.
In another part of his speech, Hezbollah’s secretary general, while appreciating and thanking the Islamic Republic of Iran, said Tehran has never given up supporting the resistance.
He also valued the role of Iranian General Martyr Qassem Soleimani in advancing the goals of the Resistance Front.
The secretary general of Hezbollah in Lebanon said that all those sacrifices should be remembered because this victory was not achieved for free, but with blood, tears, hands, fingers on the trigger, minds, hearts and will. Those who resisted the occupiers should be presented, as well as those who conspired against the people of their homeland.
He continued, “The new generation should be aware of the humiliation in the checkpoints in southern Lebanon and know what suffering their brothers and fathers have endured in prisons and human rights violations.”
Nasrallah added, “The Lebanese people must know the true face of the Zionist regime, which is trying to normalize itself and have relations with other nations in the region.”
Hezbollah’s secretary general reiterated the 2000 victory as the most important achievement in contemporary history, saying it was a comprehensive victory that made the Arab-Islamic countries and Lebanon proud.
