Spanish authorities have found two bodies on a boat used by migrants trying to reach the Canary Islands.
This was reported by the Efe news agency. The boat was spotted in the night about ten kilometers from the island of Gran Canaria. Rescuers have rescued 35 people (including two women and five alleged minors). Some of them needed medical assistance in hospital. Migrant landings in the Canary Islands are continuous, although the numbers fluctuate constantly. According to Efe, the last weekend was particularly challenging for rescuers, as more than 330 people arrived on nine boats. During one of the rescue operations, in which the Moroccan navy also participated, a body was found which was then lost at sea, the agency adds. Nearly 60 people, on the other hand, disembarked at different points on the Andalusian coast.
