According to the online newspaper Rai al-Youm, as a result of American and Zionist provocations in West Asia and their attempts to push Morocco to normalize its relations with the Zionist regime, the United States is now seeking to provoke a war between the Maghreb countries, namely Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Mauritania. They would exploit disputes over the disputed territory of Western Sahara.
According to Abdel Bari Atwan, those who follow the Zionist and American actions in the Maghreb and the marginal issues related to the normalization of relations with the Zionist entity in all its dimensions have the strong impression that there is already a well-calculated plan to separate Morocco from the Arab and Islamic countries and shake stability and security in this country.
“Yesterday’s media celebration in Rabat led by Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, and his trip aboard an Israeli El Al plane at the head of a delegation accompanied by Meir Ben-Shabbat, national security advisor to the Israeli regime, was a provocative act not only against us, but also against the entire Arab and Muslim nation of the Maghreb,” he said.
He added that Morocco was one of the main friends of Palestine supporting its cause, and that tens of millions of Moroccans were ready to participate in the war for the liberation of Palestine.
“We have previously warned against the hidden threats of this plan for Morocco and all Maghreb countries, because based on our experiences, we know very well how the Americans violate treaties and how they abandon their allies. We have the experience of the occupation of Iraq, which has been subject to UN inspections and resolutions,” Atwan continued.
“The fake normalization celebration will end in a few days and the truth will come out. The US promises did not make Egypt a rich country and the Wadi Araba agreements did not make Jordan a prosperous country.
The last few days have been marked by two major events that confirm our deep concern about those who could create threats in the Maghreb region. The first is the speech of the President of the National Assembly of the Algerian People, Suleiman Shanin, who referred to parliamentary actions to restore the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination. Algeria supports this right and considers it irrevocable and non-negotiable.
Atwan added that the issue of Western Sahara was a colonization issue because there is no historical or legal link between the Saharawi people and the Moroccan occupiers.
The second was the publication of a communiqué by the Mauritanian army announcing that Moroccan forces had fired on one of its patrols in the northern border area near Western Sahara.
The two events mentioned above lead us to conclude that large fires begin with small sparks. Wars between sister nations begin in the same way. Israelis and Americans try to sow the seeds of war in the Maghreb countries.
