This was revealed by a Japanese government source to the “Kyodo” news agency. vThe Defense Ministry plans to increase to two the number of infantry regiments under the 15th Brigade of the Land Self-Defense Force stationed on the island, located about center kilometers from Taiwan. The ministry is also planning to increase the number of units in charge of communications, care of facilities and supply of goods. The crew of Shenzhou-14, which includes crew commander Chen Dong, China’s first female cosmonaut Liu Yang, and Cai Xuzhe, who is making her first space flight, have fully completed their tasks and, after a six-month mission, will return to Earth on Dec. 4.

Currently, necessary preparatory work is underway at the landing site in Dongfeng, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, to accommodate the returning cosmonauts.
