The Zionist regime destroyed 869 homes and other facilities belonging to Palestinians last year.
Most of the destroyed homes were located in the east of Al-Quds (East Jerusalem), in Al-Khalil as well as in Tubas. The forces of the Zionist occupation regime also destroyed 6507 fruit trees in the West Bank last year.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said on Monday that the Zionist regime demolished 24 Palestinian homes without building permits, displaced 34 Palestinians and caused damage to 70 others in the past two weeks.
Jamie McGoldrick, the United Nations coordinator for the region, said recently that Israel has stepped up its illegal demolitions in recent months coinciding with the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Palestinian Territories Research Center said in a report that the total number of Palestinian homes demolished since the establishment of the illegal Israeli regime has reached 16,5690 and about one million Palestinians have been displaced.
By demolishing Palestinian homes and establishing Zionist settlements on Palestinian lands, the Zionist regime seeks to change the geographical structure of the Palestinian territories and give them a Zionist identity in order to consolidate its hegemony in the Palestinian territories.
In Resolution 2334, on December 23, 2016, the UN Security Council called on the Zionist regime to immediately and completely cease all settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories. The Zionist regime continues to build Zionist settlements regardless of the will of the international community and is supported in this regard by the United States.
