Undercover Israeli agents kidnapped a Palestinian teenager in occupied al-Quds (Jerusalem) while regime forces stormed an area in the West Bank to demolish a newly built school there.

The teenager, identified as Saber Abu Nab, was forcibly dragged away from a street in Silwan district, south of the al-Aqsa Mosque in al-Quds, the Palestinian Information Center reported Sunday.

Witnesses and residents said the teenager was assaulted and brutally beaten before being put into an Israeli military vehicle.

In recent months, Israeli forces have frequently raided homes of Palestinians in the West Bank and arrested dozens of people, who are then taken to Israeli prisons where they are held without charge.

The circumstances of the kidnappings remain unknown, although the Israelis repeatedly carry out such surprise raids.

Israel holds more than 7,000 Palestinians in its prisons. Most prisoners are held without charge or trial under a controversial policy known as “administrative detention.”

In addition, Israeli troops were caught on camera brutally killing Palestinians on several occasions. The videos went viral online and sparked international condemnation.

Human rights groups have repeatedly criticized the Tel Aviv regime for its shoot-to-kill policy, arguing that a large number of Palestinians killed at the scene of attacks did not pose a serious threat to Israelis.

The United Nations has also criticized the regime for repeatedly demolishing Palestinian homes in the West Bank.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has warned that the number of demolished Palestinian homes has increased sharply in light of the current era of the coronavirus pandemic.

Many believe that Israel’s controversial demolition measures are aimed at driving more Palestinians out of the West Bank.

Tensions between Israelis and Palestinians have increased following Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plan to annex parts of the West Bank.
