In an interview with the IUVMPress, Osamah Hamdan, the head of the Palestinian Hamas movement’s bureau of foreign relations, stressed on the fact that the pure blood of Gen. Qassem Soleimani shall bless the Axis of Resistance.
Question: the US president claimed that the world has become a safer place for America after the assassination of General Soleimani. What do you think about this?
Answer: first, it is better to know what Trump means by this. His primary goal is to subjugate the entire world and establish America’s dark hegemony over the Islamic nation. Haj Qassem Soleimani played a leading role in crushing Washington’s sinister dreams for Lebanon and Palestine. Thus, the assassination of Gen. Soleimani can be defined in the context of US mischievous agendas for the region.
Question: Is there any link between the assassination of Haj Qassem Soleimani and the beginning of the process of normalization of ties between the Zionist regime and the reactionary Arab countries?
Answer: it is totally irrational to assume that the Axis of Resistance has lost its might and strength following Gen. Soleimani’s martyrdom. Those who trod the path of resistance know well that this way may lead to martyrdom and Haj Qassem was well aware of this. I do not mean to say that the martyrdom of Hajj Qassem was a modest loss for us. But regarding your question. In fact, our region is divided into three parts: a) those who chose to resist the vicious US- Zionist agendas, b) those who chose to shamefully normalize their ties with the Zionist enemy, c) and finally those who are deeply ambivalent between the two aforementioned ways.
Everything in the Middle-East is interconnected, but what is evident is that at the end, those who chose the path of resistance shall overcome in this historic battle, and sooner or later those who adopted the shameful strategy of submission to the enemy will regret.
Question: How do you think Arab countries like the UAE, Bahrain or Morocco that have started to normalize their ties with the Zionist regime can benefit from this relationship?
Answer: I do not think they can find any benefit in that relationship with Tel Aviv. But we should know that the government that wants to commit such stupidity will eventually find the necessary excuse, regardless of the political reality and facts. Nowadays, the Israeli media ridicule the Emirati leaders and make accusations against the Abu Dhabi that may or may not be true, but we should be cognizant that Tel Aviv has taken the opposite position regarding the sale of weapons by the United States to the UAE.
Question: So what is the reason for the UAE leaders to normalize relations with Israel? Did Trump want to save the Emirati regime from its domestic crisis?
Answer: I am not in the position of Emirati officials to answer to this question. Perhaps they thought that in this way they could achieve limited gains and consolidate their dominance in the region, or perhaps they thought that Israel would be able to defend them. I consider these excuses [for the normalization] completely baseless.
Question: As a Palestinian, how do you evaluate the activities of Hajj Qassem Soleimani? And can the axis of resistance find an alternative to such a great figure as Gen. Soleimani?
Answer: I do not want to prognosticate the future, but experience has always taught us that the pure blood of the martyrs blesses us and advances the lofty goals of the resistance. Another issue is that the martyrdom of Gen. Soleimani entailed more responsibility for the next generation of the Axis of Resistance. We should be careful that the blood of martyrs to not go in vain. But I hope that Palestine will be liberated soon and that the Zionist regime will disappear from the pages of history.
