10 members of the Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces) resistance movement were killed in an IS attack on Iraq’s “Salah ud-Din” province on Saturday night.
According to Iran’s FarsNews news agency, the Hashd al-Shaabi said in a statement in this regard that elements of the IS terrorist group attacked the positions of the 22nd Brigade of this organization in the “Al-Ayth” area in the “Hamrin” region of Salah ud-Din province.
Ten other militants were wounded, according to security sources.
Iraqi news channel Sabrin reported IS elements in the area were surrounded by Hashd Al-Shaabi fighters.
Earlier on Thursday, an attack by two suicide bombers in a market in the capital Baghdad killed more than 30 people.
