The Iranian Army will unveil the giant drone “Kaman 22” capable of carrying 300 kilograms of military equipment in the next 10 days.
This was announced by Commander of the Air Force of the Iranian Army Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh today at a virtual meeting with the commanders of the air forces of different countries held simultaneously with the International Air Show in the southern Indian city of Bangalore.
In the meeting, Brigadier General Nasirzadeh pointed to the recent achievements of the Iranian Army Air Force and said the army’s drones are equipped with 500-pound bombs.
“Before the Islamic Revolution, our equipment was imported from the West. All our training and supply of spare parts also depended on the West,” the commander of the Iranian Army Air Force said.
“After the revolution, we are training the forces, whether pilots or technical forces or other forces domestically. Overall, our air force is now much better equipped, better and more motivated than before the revolution,” Brigadier General Nasirzadeh highlighted.
He described the air force as the most obvious manifestation of national power in the air and in space, calling the acquisition of drones equipped with nanotechnologies and artificial intelligence a right of Iran.
“Thanks to the experiences during the eight-year imposed war, we are able to look at the issue of aerospace in a broader perspective and bring to bear the strategic and macro capabilities in the field of air deterrence,” Brigadier General Nasirzadeh added.
