The Zionist entity and the cedar country have never recognized each other’s borders, and the dispute over the maritime demarcation line is mediated by the US.

“Any activity exercised by Israeli military and economic actors in the area of disputed waters will be considered hostile action on the part of Beirut,” Michel Aoun, the president of Lebanon, told Najib Miqati, the country’s premier, commenting on reports of Israel’s gas storage vessel Energean power in the Karish field area. Aoun said he was in contact with top army brass who “will monitor Israeli activities in the area.” For his part, Miqati said that “Israel’s choice to trespass beyond Line 29 (marking the demarcation in the disputed area) is dangerous and only increases tension and violates Lebanese sovereignty.”
