Fourth night of clashes in Tripoli

VIEWS

Videos broadcasted by local TV and social networks show the ancient building of the municipality of Tripoli wrapped in flames set by young protesters who, for the fourth consecutive day, have expressed their anger around the institutional building. Tripoli’s mayor, Riad Yamaq, said that none of the municipality’s employees and officials were inside the building during the fire and that there are no injuries. “It is a cowardly act, which goes against the principles of anti-government mobilization,” he said while speaking to reporters in the middle of the night after learning the news.
