Homicides in the United States increased by 30% in 2020.
This is revealed in the annual report of the FBI (Uniform Crime Report). This is the most significant increase since the 1960s, since homicides have been recorded in the country. Last year, at the height of the pandemic, there were more than 21,500 homicides, a number not seen since the mid-1990s. The peak occurred in June and July.
