ROME-The Italian prime minister announced that international sanctions against Russia are effective and that support for Ukraine should continue until Kiev wins.
“We must continue,” Mario Draghi said, “on support for Ukraine until the war of liberation is won. I think that should be the line of the government. It has been the line of my government: I cannot anticipate what it will be, however, within the center-right there are many points of view, you want me to say that Salvini’s prevails, I cannot say.” However, the League leader’s line “is a view that the current government does not share.”
“Sanctions work, Russian propaganda has tried to show that they don’t work, they don’t. You have to continue on that front, this is the political line that the government has followed.” So said Prime Minister Mario Draghi at a press conference.
